A modern consultation clinic has been operating at St. Luke’s Hospital since 2008.
The hospital’s equipment enables comprehensive eye diagnostics using the latest technologies. When necessary, consultations, surgeries, and follow-up care are provided by some of the best specialists in Ukraine, including top-category doctors, medical science candidates, and medical doctors. We focus on a comprehensive approach, extensive diagnostic options, state-of-the-art operating rooms, and comfortable facilities to provide accessible, European-level ophthalmology services in Kropyvnytskyi.
COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMINATION
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Patient consultation
Visual acuity testing (with and without optical correction)
Refractometry
Intraocular pressure measurement
Visual field assessment
Biomicroscopy (microscopic examination of eye structures)
Gonioscopy (examining the anterior chamber angle with a Goldman lens)
Fundus examination (direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy)
All examination results are provided to patients in printed or electronic format (upon request).
In cases of suspected eye diseases, the doctor will perform specific tests to establish a more precise diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan.
All diagnostics follow national treatment protocols approved by Ukraine’s Ministry of Health, in line with European standards.
SPECIALIZED EYE EXAMINATION METHODS
Orbital Ultrasound and A-scan for measuring eye structure dimensions, particularly in cases of myopia, hyperopia, glaucoma, cataracts, suspected tumors, endocrine ophthalmopathy, and other eye conditions.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) – Spectral-Domain Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT 4000 – allows cellular-level analysis of the retina and optic nerve, essential for diseases like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, amblyopia, retinal dystrophies, macular tears, retinal detachment, retinoschisis, and unexplained vision loss.
This technology also enables dynamic retinal and optic nerve monitoring (through layered imaging), especially valuable for chronic conditions like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
This function is invaluable in assessing the effectiveness of treatment for retinal diseases and refining glaucoma treatment.
This procedure is safe for children and pregnant women, and our optical coherence tomography equipment has no equivalent in the Kirovohrad region.
Fluorescein Angiography (FA) Heidelberg – A fundus camera that photographs the retina with contrast dye (fluorescein), allowing an assessment of retinal blood flow and vascular health. This method is essential in diagnosing diabetic retinopathy, retinal vessel thrombosis and embolisms, macular degeneration, and retinitis.
Fundus Photography – non-contrast photo documentation of retinal and optic nerve conditions. Pupil-dilating medications are used to enhance image quality, allowing visual assessment of changes in eye structures (by any doctor or the patient).
Perimetry (static and kinetic) – visual field testing, essential for glaucoma and conditions affecting the optic nerve, brain, or retina.
The doctor will develop a personalized diagnostic plan, explaining each procedure and result clearly. We avoid unnecessary procedures!
Our center provides the most comprehensive diagnostic services in the Kirovohrad region!
Cataracts, a common eye condition often associated with aging, can range from gradual “clouding” of vision to severe cases complicated by glaucoma, with increased eye pressure and progressive, irreversible vision loss. Cataracts generally develop after age 60 and require timely, planned surgical treatment.
The center offers a wide selection of intraocular lenses (IOLs), from classic monofocal models to premium multifocal IOLs (Symphony, Synergy, PanOptix, Eyhance) and custom toric lenses for astigmatism correction.
Cataract surgeries are performed by leading innovator Dr. Dmytro Zhaboyedov, a Doctor of Medical Sciences in Ukraine, head of the Department of Eye Diseases at Bogomolets Medical University, and the holder of over 10 patents in eye surgery and diagnostics.

◾️ To address age-related changes
◾️ Post-traumatic reconstruction
◾️ Orbital formations
Cosmetic surgery can offer a more youthful appearance. However, these procedures aren’t always purely cosmetic.
Age-related changes can cause excess skin in the upper eyelid, impairing the visual field.
Decreased elasticity in the lower eyelid (“sagging”) may disrupt tear drainage, leading to chronic tearing and secondary conjunctival and corneal issues. Indications also include post-trauma muscle defects and scarring.

◾️ Amblyopia
◾️ Accommodation spasm
◾️ Retinal and optic nerve diseases
