MRI is an absolutely painless, non-invasive, and safe procedure:

– It does not involve X-rays or other types of radiation

– It has no known side effects

A magnet, combined with completely safe radio waves, creates internal images by exciting hydrogen atoms within our body.

Important! Due to the powerful magnet used in MRI, this procedure cannot be performed if there are certain types of metals in your body. Therefore, you will need to answer some questions from our specialists to determine whether you can undergo this examination.

If you have a pacemaker, surgical clips, any medical implants, or metal fragments, please inform the MRI staff when scheduling the exam and bring any documentation related to your implant.

We also try to avoid scanning patients during the first trimester of pregnancy (12-14 weeks), unless the scan is clinically urgent.

The resulting MRI images are incredibly detailed and valuable for clinicians, with the ability to scan virtually any part of the body.

We offer high-quality MRI on a Philips scanner and excellent service!

Unless otherwise instructed, no special preparation is needed for the scan. You may continue eating, drinking, and taking any prescribed medications as usual.

Before the scan, the procedure will be explained to you, and all your questions will be answered.

You will be asked to change into a gown for the scan. Additionally, all metal objects such as jewelry, hairpins, watches, and possibly makeup (mascara contains metal particles) must be removed.

ON THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE

Our specialist will guide you into the scanning room, where you will lie down on a special bed that will slowly move through the scanner during the procedure.

During the scan, you will be asked to remain still and lie as quietly as possible. This allows the machine to capture clear images. The scanning process involves some noise, but many patients find it quite relaxing and often fall asleep during the procedure.

The technician operating the scanner will be in the adjacent room and will be able to see and hear you throughout the scan, and can also communicate with you via intercom.

After the examination, you will be provided with a CD containing the scan images. The images will be processed, reviewed, and interpreted by a radiologist, who will provide you with a report of the findings.

This usually takes between a few hours and 24 hours.

You should give the results to your doctor for review, consultation, and diagnosis.

You may also consult with a physician from our medical center on the day you receive your scan results.

Is an injection necessary?

Sometimes, to obtain additional information, a contrast injection (which does not contain iodine) is needed. You will be asked about any allergies, but these contrast agents are very safe and have no known side effects.

How long does the scan take?

The scan can take up to an hour. Please take this into account when scheduling other appointments or consultations.

Can I eat after the scan?

After the MRI scan, you can eat and drink as usual.

The procedure is carried out by highly qualified specialists.
