CT is a painless X-ray test that helps doctors diagnose and treat various conditions
CT provides greater clarity than standard X-ray exams, allowing doctors to visualize organs, soft tissues, and bones.
CT imaging uses specialized X-ray equipment to capture a series of images of the body’s interior. These are then processed by a computer to create cross-sectional images of the area being examined.
For this procedure, we offer a modern Toshiba CT scanner, which ensures fast and efficient scanning with lower radiation doses.
It is important to follow all the instructions regarding eating, drinking, and taking medications prior to the procedure.
Some patients may require special preparation before the scan. You will be informed of any necessary preparations beforehand.
If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, please inform our staff.

Scan Procedure
The CT suite is staffed by radiologists and radiology technicians.
Before the procedure, the process will be explained to you. You may be asked to change into a gown if necessary.
In the scanning room, you will lie down on the scanner bed. During the scan, the bed will slowly move through the center of the scanner. The scanner does not touch you, and you will not feel any discomfort. You just need to relax and remain as still as possible throughout the examination.
We may also ask you to hold your breath for a short time during the scan.
The scan usually takes up to 30 minutes. Please account for this when planning your other appointments.
The technician operating the scanner will be in the adjacent room but will see and hear you throughout the procedure. They can also speak to you via the intercom system.
Some scans require an injection of a contrast agent, administered intravenously. This procedure is painless, and we will explain what sensations to expect when the contrast is injected.
After the Scan
There should be no side effects following a CT scan, and you can resume eating and drinking as usual.
The contrast agent should not cause any adverse effects, but we recommend drinking plenty of fluids after the scan to help flush it from your system.
Scan Results
After the scan, you will receive a CD with the scan images. The images will be processed, reviewed, and interpreted by a radiologist, who will provide a written report. This usually takes up to 24 hours.
You should give the diagnostic results to your doctor. If you choose to consult a doctor from our medical center, they may review the images prior to the official report being issued, which could speed up the diagnosis and treatment process.
